Dream Big.

What is the ‘big dream’ that underpins your business? If you don’t have one, you will always struggle to grow to your full potential.

As a business owner you probably have objectives in some form – whether that be an annual revenue target, sales objectives, or a full blown business plan.

But do you allow yourself to dream big? Do you stop to imagine where you could be in a year, three years, or even 10 years?

Dreaming is a very different discipline to planning. It’s an intuitive, emotional exercise, as opposed to planning – which is rational. Of course you should do both, but most people only do the planning, because dreaming doesn’t sound very ‘businessy.’ But guess what? All the greatest entrepreneurs in history had a big dream of what they might achieve one day. Whether it was

  • Henry Ford and his dream of a country criss-crossed by roads at a time when railroad travel dominated and there were very few roads,
  • Richard Branson dreaming about taking on British Airways at a time when his airline was a tiny fledgling, or
  • Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniac dreaming of putting a computer into everyone’s hands.

And dreaming isn’t just the prerogative of high flyers. We ALL have the capacity to dream – and it’s easy to do. All you need to do is to let go of the rational, and give your intuition the helm for a while.

One of the best ways to do this is by using a simple business meditation technique.

Here’s a free exercise for you to try.

I look forward to hearing how you get on…
